The 88th Texas Legislative Sessions marked historic progress for medical liberty, with TFVC supporting a record number of strong bills and helping to pass five, including SB 7, banning employer COVID Vaccine mandates and HB 44, which bans medical discrimination against unvaccinated patients on Medicaid or CHIP. Major victories also included protections for veterans, businesses, and limits on government COVID-19 restrictions, while also maintaining our perfect record of defeating all bad bills.

TFVC adapted to restrictive COVID protocols and remained fully engaged, with over 30 medical freedom bills filed. Key victories included banning vaccine passports, passing a medical protections bill for parents, and defeating all dangerous legislation. We also influenced two executive orders, secured two favorable Attorney General opinions, and saw massive growth in community engagement and legislative influence, solidifying our leadership in the national medical liberty movement.

Bills We Opposed: 10
Despite significant political headwinds and intense media bias over a small measles outbreak, TFVC achieved several victories, including the filing of six pro-vaccine choice bills and defeating every bill we opposed. Despite the hostile environment at the Capitol, we persisted with robust grassroots engagement, including hundreds of legislative office visits, expert testimony, and hosting Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Against all odds, we not only prevailed but grew in numbers and statewide influence.

85th legislative session
Bills We Supported: 7
Bills We Opposed: 10
During the 85th Legislative Session, Texans for Vaccine Choice (TFVC) secured major wins, including the passage of two pro-parent amendments protecting parental rights on bills that were fully passed. Seven pro-vaccine choice bills were filed—the first since 2003—and we successfully defeated all ten bad bills. We were highly active at the Capitol, securing our role as a leading force in the vaccine choice movement.

Bills We Opposed: 17
TFVC is formed by a group of parents in response to the filing of HB 2006, a vaccine mandate bill. During that legislative session, we successfully mobilized grassroots opposition – organizing our first rally, testifying in hearings, and running boots-on-the-ground campaigns that contributed to the defeat of that mandate bill, along with 16 others aimed at eroding medical liberty. These victories triggered a political ripple effect, establishing TFVC as a formidable force in Texas.
