The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is asking for public input on the actions outlined in the August 10 Executive Order regarding federal vaccine recommendations and the importance of individualized decision-making.
The public comment window closes September 20, so now is the time to make your voice heard.
This is an opportunity for Texans to tell federal policymakers what vaccine policy should look like. Your comment can address the importance of individual autonomy and parental authority, the quality and strength of the evidence behind vaccine recommendations, how shared clinical decision-making should work, and the need for transparency and rebuilding of public trust.
Those same principles are at the heart of TFVC’s work here in Texas. As we’ve emphasized, however, proposed federal policies do not change Texas law. Texans can still face vaccine requirements affecting education, employment, healthcare, and other areas of life. This is why TFVC remains focused on ending all remaining allowable vaccine mandates in the upcoming Texas Legislative Session.
Submit your public comment before September 20 and tell HHS that medical decisions should remain with patients and parents.
