Tyranny Squad Member of the Week: Rep. Donna Howard

Rep. Donna Howard – Reigning Tyranny Squad Queen: TFVC has chosen to feature Rep. Howard again because, if left to her own devices, she would double and triple down on her goal of vaccinating every single Texan – regardless of their health history, risk profile and personal beliefs – and ensuring that the state is as wedded to the corrupt pharmaceutical industry as possible.

This session, she has filed (yet again) a bill that aims to unknowingly and non-consensually enroll Texas newborns into ImmTrac2, the state’s immunization registry. If a parent wants to opt their child out of this tracking system, they are expected to jump through numerous, antiquated hoops (honestly…who FAXES documents anymore?!) and cross their fingers that their request has been respected. We have killed this bill before and will kill it again in the 88th session!

Rep. Howard additionally authored HB 989, which seems to commission a benign, even potentially beneficial strategy plan to combat HPV on college campuses. However, knowing that the bill was filed by Rep. Howard and that the most heavily promoted (and highly profitable) prevention approach is now Gardasil-9, TFVC has had its eyes on the bill since it was filed in December 2022. As expected, Rep. Howard, willfully misrepresented the language of the bill during the March 27th hearing, insisting that the state will be “required” to promote Gardasil, referring to the fast-tracked vaccine as having an “extreme” safety and efficacy profile.
