Thanks to the work of grassroots activists within several county Republican parties across the state, the Republican Party of Texas approved a Primary Ballot Proposition that calls attention to the widespread vaccine discrimination many patients face. Think of this as a straw poll, wherein the Texas GOP is getting input from its voters about issues that matter the most. The outcome of this vote will help shape both the Republican Party platform and its priorities for the 90th Legislative Session.

Proposition Three reads: “Texas should prohibit denial of healthcare or any medical service based solely on the patient’s vaccination status.” While Team TFVC has made great strides in recent sessions to chip away at vaccine discrimination, first with HB 44 in 2023 – which prohibits this type of unethical practice for patients on state-funded health insurance plans – and then HB 4076 in 2025 – which prohibits vaccination-based discrimination for organ transplant patients, pushing for a policy that protects all Texans would be a huge victory!

Early Voting for the 2026 Primary runs from Tuesday, February 17 through Friday, February 27. Election Day is Tuesday, March 3! So, make a plan to get to the polls and vote to defend vaccine choice!
