FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: TFVC CALLS ON GOV. ABBOTT TO ASSURE PARENTS THAT TEXAS WILL NEVER MANDATE COVID SHOTS ON TEXAS CHILDREN
Keller, TX. October 20, 2022 – The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) voted unanimously today to add Covid-19 shots to our nation’s childhood vaccine schedule. This action allows Covid-19 shots to join the ranks of the over 50 childhood shots that already enjoy freedom from any liability or consumer protection.
Adding Covid jabs to the childhood schedule allows them to continue the liability protection of the Emergency Use Authorization despite the fact that children are the least likely to suffer serious symptoms or die from the disease.
The fast tracked nature of these jabs, with their high injury and low efficacy rates, highlights the audacity of today’s ACIP vote and reveals the urgency the vaccine makers must be feeling to ensure that there is no gap in their liability shielding.
After pressure from Rep. Brian Harrison this morning, the Texas Department of Health Services quickly removed language stating that children needed “all-CDC recommended vaccines” in order to return to school. Perhaps the representative’s tweet reminded them that Texas does not require the entire CDC schedule for children to attend school or perhaps it was a signal that they want to change that fact.
Texans for Vaccine Choice Executive Director, Christine Welborn, called on Governor Abbott to make it clear that Texas will not allow these jabs to be forced on Texas kids, “Since the beginning of the pandemic, children have shown to be the most resilient to the disease. We are calling on Governor Abbott to join the ranks of other brave governors like Gov. Ron DeSantis by publicly assuring all Texas parents that he will not allow the ACIP, the CDC, or any other bureaucrats to dictate private vaccine decisions in our great state.”
