The Republican Party of Texas Biennial Convention wrapped up late Saturday afternoon, and Team TFVC made an indelible impact from start to finish.

President Rebecca Hardy and Political Director Emily Cameron arrived in Houston on Sunday afternoon to prepare for committee hearings the following day. The first half of the week was spent testifying before and working alongside the Platform and Legislative Priorities Committees and Subcommittees to help shape the future of the Republican Party. Our goal was clear: secure strong medical liberty language in both the Party Platform and among the Legislative Priorities for the 2027 Legislature to tackle.

We’re pleased to report that, thanks to the hard work of delegates leading up to convention and TFVC’s contributions in these critical committee rooms, Medical Freedom earned a place among the 15 Legislative Priorities advanced to the full convention body for a vote. We expect to learn which eight priorities ultimately make the final list soon and will, of course, keep you posted.

Regardless of the official outcome, one thing is abundantly clear: support for our mission is stronger than ever. The enthusiasm for medical liberty among the several thousand attendees was impossible to miss, and the fact that our issue advanced into the Top 15 is a powerful testament to how far we’ve come since TFVC was founded in 2015.

But the RPT Convention wasn’t all business.

Our Wednesday night pre-party featuring guest of honor Jennifer Bridges, RN, set the tone for the rest of the week. Her heartfelt words of gratitude for Team TFVC were deeply appreciated. (Back atcha, Jennifer!)

In the convention hall, TFVC staff members Carrie Bigford, Kelly Vela, and Yvette Whitcher, alongside an army of dedicated volunteers, operated our eye-catching and engaging booth, helping spread the message of medical liberty to thousands of attendees.

Our “podcast corner” created opportunities for meaningful conversations with legislators, candidates, and conservative influencers about why Texas must lead the nation on vaccine choice.

We also welcomed medical liberty hero Dr. Mary Talley Bowden for a special Thursday Meet & Greet, where she shared her experiences fighting medical tyranny and encouraged attendees to remain engaged in the battle ahead.

And then came the unexpected cherry on top: Rob Schneider made an unannounced appearance in the exhibit hall and completely upended his schedule to sit down with Team TFVC for an interview!

While convention week may be over, TFVC’s work is not…

We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to partner with you in the fight for medical liberty in Texas, and we’re more energized than ever for what comes next.

June 19, 2026 Update:
Our RPT Recap highlighted the extraordinary effort by our delegates and advocates in both the Platform and Legislative Priorities Committees, as well as the tremendous victory of Medical Freedom advancing to the Top 15 Legislative Priorities out of dozens of debated issues.
The RPT released the final delegation vote results. While our strengthened Medical Freedom Plank was overwhelmingly adopted into the Party Platform, it ultimately did not secure a place among the final eight legislative priorities, a designation that would have provided leverage heading into Session. While disappointing, the outcome does not change our work.
We are confident we left it all on the field during convention week and embrace the peace that comes from trusting God with the results. With momentum behind medical liberty continuing to grow, our focus now turns to Austin, where our priority remains unchanged: ending all vaccine-based discrimination in Texas.
